NCEE Entrepreneurial Universities Summit 2027: Different thinking for the challenges universities face

NCEE Entrepreneurial Universities Summit 2027: Different thinking for the challenges universities face

NCEE Entrepreneurial Universities Summit 2007: Different Thinking for the Challenges Universities Face, 4th March, University of Leeds

Universities are being asked to do more with less, respond faster to change, build resilience, create new partnerships and keep innovating.

The Entrepreneurial University Summit will explore how entrepreneurial thinking, leadership and practice can help universities respond, bringing together leading thinkers, examples of what works and practical ideas to take back to your institution.

The Summit will combine high-quality speakers and examples of leading practice with opportunities for participants to exchange experience and apply what they have heard to their own challenges.

Hear the best. Share what works. Find new answers.  With just 80 places, the Summit will create space for meaningful conversations, new connections and ideas that can help tackle the challenges universities face.

Three Summit Themes

The Summit will  focus on three simple questions:

1. Entrepreneurial Leadership

How do we lead, create momentum and enable innovation when resources are constrained and certainty is disappearing?

Areas might include: leading through uncertainty; resilience and adaptability; creating space for new ideas; distributed entrepreneurial leadership; building an innovative culture; turning strategy into action.

2. Enterprise & Innovation

How do universities generate new ideas, experiment, recognise opportunities and turn innovation into action?

Areas might include: entrepreneurial mindset; enterprise and entrepreneurship education; new models and approaches; experimentation; innovation and commercialisation; using technology differently; turning ideas into sustainable activity.

3. Place & Inclusive Enterprise

How can universities use enterprise to create opportunity and impact for students, communities, businesses and places?

Areas might include: inclusive enterprise; civic and place-based engagement; business engagement; social mobility and opportunity; innovation ecosystems; partnerships; regional growth and impact.

The Summit is designed to develop participants’ knowledge and understanding of how entrepreneurial approaches can help universities respond to current and emerging issues, particularly around leadership, innovation, resilience, enterprise, inclusive growth and institutional change.

A strong emphasis will be placed on sharing established and emerging practice that participants can learn from and apply within their own professional roles and institutions.

Sessions will be designed to develop participants’ knowledge and understanding in areas including entrepreneurial leadership, innovation, institutional change, enterprise, inclusive entrepreneurship and partnership working.

Contributors will be specifically asked to identify the learning from their research or practice and what other participants can take from it and apply within their own institutions.

Participants will receive relevant supporting materials and resources from the Summit, including presentations and practical tools/resources where these are made available by contributors.

We will also provide a certificate of attendance/participation confirming attendance at the professional development summit.
