Dr Taeje Park

Dr Taeje Park is a researcher at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, where he studies entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems, with particular attention to regional dynamics across the UK and East Asia, including South Korea, China, and Japan. His research explores the roles of entrepreneurial support organisations (ESOs), ecosystem structures, and entrepreneurship policy.

He received his PhD in Science, Technology and Innovation Policy from Alliance Manchester Business School. His academic work centres on entrepreneurial ecosystems, innovation ecosystems, ESOs, and the design and evaluation of SMEs and startup support policies. He has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and the Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI), and he holds Fellowship status with Advance HE (FHEA).

Alongside his academic career, Dr Park has worked for over a decade as an accelerator and venture support practitioner, specialising in the design of university-based entrepreneurial support organisations (ESOs) and the development of incubation and entrepreneurship programmes. He led global entrepreneurship initiatives in collaboration with higher education institutions, including Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University, Peking University, University College London, Queen Mary University of London, and the University of Edinburgh. His professional expertise focuses on the design of university entrepreneurial ecosystems, entrepreneurship education, and SME and startup support.
