Brian McNicoll, MSc, FCMI

Head of Entrepreneurship, University of Dundee

Brian graduated from applied computing at the University of Dundee in 2003 going on to found the BAFTA-award winning Dynamo Games best known for developing the Championship Manager mobile series. Brian grew a successful business to a team of 25, designing 40+ digital products.

In 2012 Brian moved to Design in Action a £4m Scottish-wide research project led by the school of Art and Design at the University of Dundee where he managed a portfolio of 17 design thinking-led businesses including Beer52.com which is now the world’s largest and fastest growing craft beer club.

Brian currently leads entrepreneurship at the University of Dundee (recently being named in the top 5 most entrepreneurial universities in Europe – NACUE and for the THEAwards outstanding entrepreneurial university award) helping staff, students and graduates launch their start-up and spinout business ideas. As part of his remit, the Centre for Entrepreneurship sits within his portfolio delivering a packed schedule of extra-curricular enterprise events, 1-1 support as well as credit-bearing modules on the curriculum. The Centre became host to the first business accelerator programme to be based on a Scottish university campus.
