A pan-European project we partnered with four forward-thinking higher education institutions to support the further growth of sustainable innovation.

With funding via Horizon Europe, we united to cultivate a mutually beneficial and collaborative consortium. The initiative was designed to leverage existing innovation and entrepreneurial knowledge of all partners, drawing on the resources of HEInnovate to spur on growth of the sustainable innovation in the respective communities and institutions.

Partners

Working with Özyeğin University, Malta College of Arts Science and Technology, UCLan Cyprus, and UCLan UK, we piloted new approaches to develop enterprise and entrepreneurial capacity.

Turkey, Malta and Cyprus are European Regional Innovation Scheme countries, which means they have been identified as needing support to build their innovation capacity. Working with these countries has given us unique opportunity to help universities and colleges become more innovative and in turn support economic growth.

Our work

Over the last three years over 150 academic and professional service staff have participated in a bespoke Entrepreneurial Leaders and Teams programme.  As part of the programme, they explored their leadership practice, were supported to develop their teams in entrepreneurial practice, met with inspirational leaders.  Through this developing the entrepreneurial capacity of their organisation.

NCEE is very proud to be part of this important project, working in Europe and across cultures.  It goes to the very heart of NCEE’s work to help universities and colleges develop their entrepreneurial capacity.

Our experience of working with European partners has further reinforced that the programme works in different contexts and places. Our colleagues in different parts of Europe experience similar or the same entrepreneurial leadership challenges and this programme supports them to develop their behaviours and practice.

We encourage the Entrepreneurial Teams programme to be adopted by partners funded by the EIT Climate KIC to orchestrate a sustained change as part of their projects, building a lasting cultural legacy that will extend beyond the funding period.
