Announcing the appointment of our new Chair

NCEE is delighted to announce Professor Gary Packham as Chair of its Board of Directors.

Gary will officially Chair our not-for profit organisation from the 23rd October 2023.

NCEE Chief Executive, Ceri Nursaw said: “We are really looking forward to Gary chairing the organisation and benefitting from his broad experience and knowledge. We are undergoing such exciting and huge change initiated by our previous Chair, Professor Ian Dunn, so it is great to have someone that can help us shape and take it forward.”

“NCEE is a unique organisation that has been supporting universities to be more enterprising and entrepreneurial since 2004. We have ambitious plans to grow our membership, launch Entrepreneurial University Accreditation, further build our leadership development programmes and work with universities to grow their enterprise and entrepreneurial capacity.”

Professor Gary Packham is Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Anglia Ruskin University, and a professor of entrepreneurship.

Professor Gary Packham said: “I am delighted to be offered the opportunity to Chair such an excellent organisation. I have been on the Board of NCEE for the last few years and have been deeply impressed by the development of the organisation and its potential to support universities. This appointment brings with it the opportunity to build rapidly our membership and I look forward to working closely with the team.”

Outgoing Chair Professor Ian Dunn added: “Having served as NCEE’s Chair for the past seven years the time is now right for someone new to lead the Board. As an organisation we are embarking on a new strategy, which is closely aligned with the needs of universities. I look forward to the next phase with Gary as Chair, a highly qualified Board executive who shares our values”.

Ceri Nursaw also acknowledged the role of the outgoing chair, Ian Dunn. She said: “I’d like to thank Ian for his commitment to NCEE during the past seven years he has been Chair and the role he has played in developing the organisation. He has been the Chair any organisation and Chief Executive would want to drive successfully forward – challenging, supportive, engaged, interested, experienced and inspirational. He has left us in good stead for the next phase of our development”.
