How does the Entrepreneurial University Award work?

How does the Entrepreneurial University Award work?

NCEE’s Entrepreneurial University Award process is a rigorous yet streamlined way to validate your university as an entrepreneurial leader.

In this four-part mini-series, we will be covering:

  1. The benefits of the Award (yesterday)
  2. How the Award works (today)
  3. Top tips for your application (tomorrow)
  4. Next steps and how to get started (Thursday).

There are just five steps in the Award process:

  1. Eligibility check: Complete an initial expression of interest form so we can discuss fit and provide tips for applying.
  2. Site visit: Our team will visit your campus. Afterwards, you will receive a summary report to inform your application.
  3. Application: Fill out the application form and supply supporting documentation showcasing your entrepreneurial activities.
  4. Expert review: An independent panel will thoroughly evaluate your submission against our criteria.
  5. Award granted: Successful applicants will receive 3-year accreditation. Exceptional institutions may qualify for a 5-year Award. Those not approved can reapply within a specified timeframe for no additional cost.

Fees are payable at the site visit and application stages. For details of these, please see our factsheet, or the FAQs on our Award webpage.

Throughout the process, we aim to be flexible and efficient while maintaining the rigorous standard of the Award. The application itself involves open-ended questions about your leadership, culture, student and staff opportunities, and community and business engagement. We provide guidance at each step, helping you to develop effective responses backed by evidence.

There are four application deadlines annually: 28 March 2024, 31 May 2024, 31 October 2024, and 31 January 2025. The entire process usually concludes within 12 weeks of submission.

Tomorrow we will cover top tips for your application. If you are interested in being part of the first cohort (closing 28 March 2024), express your interest today or schedule a 1:1 call with the team to learn more.
