Introduction
Our online programme provides the opportunity to learn from, and engage with, inspirational speakers ensuring space and interaction to explore your own change challenges.
The programme is spread over three separate one day sessions enabling you to reflect and implement change. Each day includes presentations, discussion and breakout groups. Topics covered include:
We explore the challenges and opportunities for higher education as a result of the rapidly changing external landscape. You will gain greater understanding of how this impacts on you, your school/service as well as the wider higher education sector.
We consider entrepreneurial leadership in practice, understanding change theories and how to manage and implement change in practice.
You are encouraged to reflect on your personal leadership and how applying a more creative and entrepreneurial style can impact positively on your school/service and university. We will consider the difficulties and faced and how these can be faced.

Jennifer Anyan is Dean of the School of Fashion and Creative Industries Management at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB). An artist, researcher and higher education leader, she is passionate about shaping the future of creative education through innovation, entrepreneurship and strategic partnership. Jennifer has a particular interest in how universities can prepare students for a rapidly changing world by connecting creativity, technology, industry and social impact. Her work focuses on building entrepreneurial cultures, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and creating opportunities for students, staff and external partners. Jeff McCarthy is Programme Leader at Liverpool Business School, Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), contributing to a dynamic institution of 25,700 students and 2,800 staff, rooted in the Liverpool City Region. Liverpool Business School is recognised as Times Higher Education Business School of the Year 2025, Educate North Business School of the Year 2025, and the first to achieve the NCEE Entrepreneurial Award.
Jeff is Chair and Founding Director of the Global Universities Forum for Digital Capability and Employability, building an international network of 30+ educators and industry partners. Previously he was at Manchester Metropolitan University, and led the Graduate Outcomes and Alumni strategy within a triple-accredited Business School generating £96m income, supporting 11,800 students and 364 academic staff. As iDEA Lead, he contributed to initiatives across a £369m institution serving 36,500 students.
Jeff is recognised for embedding scalable digital literacy through the award-winning RISE programme and driving impactful, collaborative approaches to employability and student success. He is committed to inclusive innovation and impact.
Omkar Singh, Student Enterprise Officer, Anglia Ruskin University
Omkar Singh works at Anglia Ruskin University in a role focused on enterprise and entrepreneurship. His work contributes to the development of entrepreneurial programmes, initiatives, and learning opportunities that promote innovation, enterprise capability, and venture creation.
Omkar brings first-hand entrepreneurial experience, having founded and run two companies in the EdTech and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturing sectors. He also has leadership and governance experience from his time as Vice President and Trustee at ARU Students’ Union, where he led campaigns and worked with MPs, university leaders, and key stakeholders.
He is passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation, and supporting people to turn ideas into sustainable and impactful ventures in the UK.
Xiaoxian zhu, associate professor and programme leader, liverpool business school
Dr Xiaoxian Zhu is an Associate Professor and Programme Leader (UG B&M) at Liverpool Business School. She specialises in international HRM in high-tech industries and regional development. Dr Zhu has extensive teaching experience in Human Resource Management and Business Management across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Dr Zhu is the Chair of CIPD Tees Valley (since 2023) and a subject examiner of international examining bodies. For her academic performance in this field, she has a good record of high quality public presentations in the UK and internationally, publications and research funding. She is a Distinguished Professor at Xi’an International University since April 2018 and a Visiting Professor at Zhejiang University of Technology, China.
