Professor Khalid Hafeez is Vice Chancellor of Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Pakistan, and an internationally experienced academic leader, researcher and innovation strategist. His career spans higher education leadership, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, technology transfer and industry–academia collaboration.

He has held senior academic and leadership roles in the UK and internationally, including Founding Director of the Centre of Innovation at the University of Bradford, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Systems at the University of York, Founding Dean of Claude Littner Business School, Associate Dean for Enterprise at De Montfort University, and Dean of Smart University in Dubai. Across these roles, he has contributed to the development of entrepreneurial education, innovation ecosystems and the commercialisation of academic research.

Professor Hafeez has a longstanding interest in enterprise education and university–industry collaboration. He has established and supported a range of innovation initiatives and networks, including the Bradford Knowledge Network and York Innovation Park, and has worked extensively to strengthen collaboration between universities, businesses and regional innovation ecosystems.

His research interests include entrepreneurship, innovation, artificial intelligence, organisational performance and economic development. He has published more than 100 research articles and combines academic research with practical work in enterprise development and innovation-led growth.

As Vice Chancellor of BUITEMS, Professor Hafeez is focused on research excellence, digital transformation, entrepreneurial education, industry engagement and the role of universities in supporting sustainable socioeconomic development.
