Coventry University have been named the most enterprising University in the Midlands at the 2010 Midlands Business Awards.
The award for ‘Midlands Enterprising University of the Year’ was presented to Dr. Gideon Maas, Co-Director of the Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship. He said:
“Coventry University is an example of how entrepreneurship related activities are integrated within education, applied research, and business support. That helps to create an entrepreneurial culture within students and staff members and the community at large. It’s great that this has now been recognised within the region.”
The University offer a broad range of entrepreneurial support for business start ups through their Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship (IAE.) The institute focuses on 4 core business areas: entrepreneurship education and training, applied research, entrepreneurship support for businesses and creating and maintaining an entrepreneurial culture, which were highlighted in the award criteria.
